Scholars and Alumni to caddie, participate in tournament ceremonies
GLENVIEW, Ill. – Evans Scholars and Evans Scholars Alumni will play a prominent role throughout the 2026 BMW Championship, set for Aug. 17-23 at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri.
All net proceeds from the BMW Championship benefit the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Foundation, which provides full tuition and housing scholarships to deserving youth caddies with significant financial need and strong academic, leadership and caddie records.
The 2026 BMW Championship celebrates the 20th anniversary of BMW’s partnership with the WGA, continuing two decades of support for the Evans Scholars Program and ensuring Scholars remain at the heart of championship week.
Evans Scholars began the week by caddying during the Evans Scholars Cup on Saturday, Aug. 15, and the BMW Golf Cup U.S. Finals on Sunday, Aug. 16. Scholars also represented the Program during Opening Drive, a free community event on Sunday featuring family-friendly activities, a junior golf clinic, local food trucks and more.
On Monday and Tuesday, Scholars will caddie for PGA TOUR professionals during practice rounds as part of the championship’s Caddies for Caddies initiative. On Tuesday evening, student caddie Juliya Tabaka will share her story and speak about the impact of the Evans Scholarship during the Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am Pairings Party at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, current Evans Scholars and Alumni will caddie during the Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am, one of the ESF’s largest fundraising events of the year. As in previous years, participating Alumni will donate their caddie tips back to the Foundation.
During championship play, Evans Scholars will participate in the opening ceremony and in a variety of media and digital storytelling opportunities. On Saturday and Sunday, Scholars will be recognized through introductions from the first tee during the final four groups and will tend the flagstick on the 16th green.
Throughout the week, fans can learn more about the Evans Scholars Program at The Caddie Yard, a redesigned fan destination that will share the championship’s charitable impact through Scholar and Alumni profiles.
The area also will feature interactive experiences from Chevron, SWAG, BMW Motorrad and MINI. Evans Scholars will assist with the championship’s 50/50 raffle and staff an ESF information tent during tournament week.
BMW also will continue its longstanding BMW Hole-in-One Scholarship tradition during championship play. Should a PGA TOUR player record an ace, BMW will fund a full, four-year Evans Scholarship in that player’s name.
This fall, 1,310 Evans Scholars will attend 28 leading universities nationwide. More than 12,850 young men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars since the Program was established in 1930.
Since the BMW Championship became the penultimate event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs in 2007, the championship has raised more than $63 million for the Evans Scholars Foundation, helping send deserving youth caddies to college.
