Job Responsibilities

The Fund Operations team is a unit within PGIM Private Capital responsible for the financial oversight and reporting of multiple credit fund strategies and their limited partnerships. Currently, the team is responsible for five corporate Mezzanine funds, two energy Mezzanine funds and two Direct Lending fund complexes (and associated separate accounts). The limited partners within these funds include subsidiaries of Prudential Financial Inc. along with unaffiliated U.S. and non-U.S. institutional investors including public and private pension funds, other insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds and family offices.

The Mezzanine strategy within PGIM Private Capital is responsible for originating, underwriting and managing a portfolio of privately placed mezzanine and structured equity investments with a specific focus on middle market companies.  Due to the strong performance of its track record coupled with growing transaction flow, PPC closed on its sixth third-party corporate Mezzanine fund, PGIM Capital Partners VI (PCP VI), and is currently fundraising its second third-party energy Mezzanine fund, PGIM Energy Partners II (PEP II).  The Mezzanine Fund Operations Analyst hired for this role will be expected to play an integral role in continuing to grow the strategy.

What you can expect

  • Prepare financial documents for Mezzanine private investment funds
  • Assist in the preparation and review of investor communications including capital activity and quarterly reporting
  • Maintain accurate performance measurements that will be presented to PPC leadership for regular reporting and analysis updates
  • Provide cash management support through cash analyses for deal fundings, subscription line borrowings / repayments and capital call needs across various fund entities
  • Implement cash settlements for expense invoices, forward contract settlements and transfers between entities to position cash for deal fundings
  • Effectively manage monthly deliverables across various internal and external teams
  • Proactively manage and complete ad hoc initiatives and projects
  • Proactively and accurately track organizational expenses in support of fundraising efforts
  • Communicate with investment companies, fund managers, service providers and investors
  • Join a global operations team by working with staff located in Chicago, Newark and Ireland

Qualifications

What you will bring

  • 1 to 3 years of accounting, audit, tax, fund administration, or operations experience in financial services
  • Ability to understand and analyze basic accounting and finance principles
  • Strong presentation, written communication and interpersonal skills with exposure to all levels of management
  • Superior analytical skills, accuracy and careful attention to detail are crucial
  • Energetic person who brings positivity, geniality and optimism to work
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving experience required

What will set you apart

  • Experience with financial statement preparation and accounting guidelines
  • Previous exposure with private credit and/or private equity funds
  • An understanding of how book, tax and cash accounting is treated throughout the life of a fund
