Western Golf Association, Morgan Stanley announce new collaboration

Agreement will support WGA's amateur championships

GLENVIEW, Ill. — The Western Golf Association (WGA) and leading global financial services firm Morgan Stanley have announced a new multi-year corporate sponsorship to support men’s and women’s golf by elevating the WGA’s prestigious national amateur and junior golf championships.

As part of the three-year agreement, Morgan Stanley will become a proud partner of the 122nd Western Amateur live stream, bringing the excitement of golf’s third-oldest amateur championship to homes and mobile devices worldwide on Aug. 2 and 3. Morgan Stanley will also become a proud partner of the Western Junior, as well as the Women’s Western Golf Association’s Women’s Western Amateur and Women’s Western Junior.

Morgan Stanley’s support will enable the WGA to provide more than 12 hours of live streaming coverage of the Western Amateur at Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio. Fans will be able to watch the thrilling conclusion, as the next generation of PGA TOUR stars compete in the same event that has tested legends like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, as well as current stars like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Morgan Stanley will also become a proud partner of the WGA’s portfolio of national amateur and junior championships for young men and women.

The Western Junior Championship, the United States’ oldest national junior golf championship, has long been a testing ground for stars of the future, including current professional standouts Collin Morikawa, Scottie Scheffler, Rickie Fowler and Tiger Woods. The 2024 Western Junior will be played at Ruth Lake Country Club in Hinsdale, Illinois.

The Women’s Western Amateur, held without interruption since 1901, is the oldest annually played championship in women’s golf. It attracts many of the top amateurs in the world, with past competitors going on to win a combined 135 major championships. The 2024 Women’s Western Amateur will be contested in July at Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.

First played in 1920, the Women’s Western Junior is the oldest junior national championship for young women in the United States. Long seen as a preview of the stars of the future, past Women’s Western Junior champions have gone on to record over 200 victories on the LPGA Tour. The 2024 Women’s Western Junior is set to be played at Hinsdale Golf Club in Hinsdale, Illinois, in June.
